You Are Seen
Joshua 2:1-21
Rahab lived on the margins—a prostitute dwelling on the outer walls of Jericho, overlooked and judged by society. Yet God saw her. He saw past her profession, past her pagan upbringing, past everything the world used to define her. When the spies arrived at her door, she demonstrated remarkable faith, declaring "the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth below." Her scarlet cord became a symbol of God's covenant promise. Today, whatever your past holds, whatever shame you carry, know this truth: God sees you. He has always seen you. Not as the world sees, but with eyes of redemptive love. You are not defined by your brokenness but by His grace. Place your scarlet cord where you'll see it daily—a reminder that you are precious in His sight.
How does Rahab's story challenge our tendency to judge others based on their past or current circumstances rather than seeing their potential for redemption?
In what ways do we sometimes view ourselves as 'broken ornaments' unworty of God's love, and how does the Christmas message speak directly to those feelings?
