The Heart Behind the Law
Matthew 5:17-20; Micah 6:8
God never intended His law to be a checklist of external behaviors. Like the Pharisees who cleaned the outside of the cup while remaining filthy within, we can fall into the trap of religious appearances without heart transformation. Jesus didn't come to abolish God's standards but to fulfill them—and to write them on our hearts. True righteousness flows from loving God and loving others. Today, examine your spiritual life honestly. Are you maintaining appearances, or are you allowing Christ to transform you from the inside out? God desires relationship over ritual, love over legalism. Ask Him to reveal any areas where you've settled for outward religion without inward devotion.
