Relationship Over Religion

Romans 12:1-2; Philippians 3:7-11

Paul, once a "Pharisee of Pharisees," counted all his religious credentials as garbage compared to knowing Christ. He transformed from a religion of rules to a relationship of grace. This is Christianity's revolutionary message: not a checklist of behaviors, but a living, breathing connection with Almighty God. The world sees church as rules and regulations, never hearing about relationship with Jesus. What people desperately need—what our device-addicted culture lacks—is genuine relationship. When you accept salvation's gift, you enter into intimate fellowship with your Creator. This relationship satisfies what nothing else can. Present yourself as a living sacrifice, and be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you'll discover God's good, pleasing, and perfect will.
Reflection: How would you describe your relationship with God—as a set of obligations or as a vibrant friendship? What needs to change?
