Peace in the Storm

Mark 4:35-41; 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Whatever storm you faced this week has a time stamp on it. Paul reminds us that "this light momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison." When the disciples panicked in the storm, Jesus simply spoke: "Peace, be still." He doesn't always calm the storm immediately, but He is always present in it. The gospel's power isn't proven only in transformation from sin but in sustaining you through suffering. Your affliction is temporary; God's presence is eternal. Like the ancient oak tree surviving 400 years of storms through deep roots, your foundation in Christ enables you to withstand any trial. Don't just hold it together—let your Father hold you. Stop trying to control everything and simply be held by the One who speaks peace over every wave.

Reflection: What storm are you trying to control instead of trusting God's peace to sustain you through it?
