Freedom from the Crowd

1 John 4:1; Ecclesiastes 7:21

Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, warned us: "Do not take to heart everything people say." Living for the crowd's approval is exhausting and ultimately unfulfilling. Popular opinion changes like fashion trends—what's celebrated today becomes ridiculed tomorrow. Social media amplifies this instability, offering temporary validation that evaporates when the likes don't come. But when you live for God, everything changes. You're led by the Holy Spirit, not the shifting winds of public opinion. You're freed from comparison and pressure. Test every message against Scripture's unchanging standard. The peace that comes from pleasing God passes all understanding because it doesn't depend on human approval. Stand firm in Christ, and you'll find glorious freedom.
Reflection: Identify one area where you're seeking human approval. What would change if you sought only God's approval there?
