Intimacy Over Information

James 4:8; Jeremiah 29:13

Jephthah knew God's history but didn't know God's heart. He had information but lacked revelation, leading to tragic consequences. His story warns us that religious knowledge without relational intimacy produces confusion and heartbreak. God doesn't want transactions; He wants relationship. He's not impressed by our religious credentials, our biblical literacy, or our theological degrees. What moves His heart is when we draw near to Him with genuine hunger. James promises that when we approach God, He approaches us. Jeremiah assures us that when we seek God with our whole heart, we will find Him. Today, evaluate your spiritual life honestly. Are you accumulating information about God or cultivating intimacy with God? Put down the commentary, silence the podcast, and simply sit in His presence. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you personally.
