Matthew 1:1-6; Hebrews 11:30-31; James 2:25-26
Rahab the prostitute appears in three remarkable places in Scripture: Matthew's genealogy of Jesus, Hebrews' hall of faith, and James' teaching on faith and works. The woman who knew no peace, who lived as an outcast on Jericho's walls, became part of the lineage that led to the Prince of Peace being born in Bethlehem. Why? Because God sees what others overlook. The world fixated on her past; God focused on her future. The world saw a life to discard; God saw a life to redeem. Her story reminds us that it doesn't matter where you come from—it only matters where you're headed. Your past doesn't disqualify you from God's purposes; your faith positions you within them. What the world has written off, God writes into His eternal story.

Why do you think Matthew, the author of Hebrews, and James all specifically mentioned Rahab by name and included her her occupation, rather than simply referring to her generically?

How can we cultivate the ability to see others the way God sees them - looking at their future rather than their past, their ptotential rather than their brokenness?
