The Power of the Tongue
James 3:1-12
James warns that the tongue, though small, sets the entire course of life on fire. In our digital age, we murder people from the comfort of our keyboards, tearing down others with comments, posts, and judgments. We insult, condemn, and devalue—all while claiming to follow the One who said, "Father, forgive them." Our words reveal what's growing in our hearts. If anger is the seed and hatred is the root, then destructive speech is the bitter fruit. But there's hope: the same tongue that curses can bless. The same heart that harbors resentment can be transformed by grace. Today, commit to using your words—spoken and written—to bring life rather than death. Before you post, text, or speak, ask: Does this reflect Christ's love or my flesh?
