Boasting in Reconciliation
Romans 5:11
Paul says that believers do not merely accept reconciliation quietly; they boast in God through Jesus Christ, through whom this restoration of favor has been received.
Sunday's message closed with a call to joy. Paul does not say we should tolerate reconciliation or endure unity. He says we should boast in it. We should celebrate it. The church is messy. Bringing together people with different wounds, different stories, and different ways of seeing the world is not a neat process. But the hope of the gospel is not that Jesus ignores the mess. The hope of the gospel is that Jesus redeems the mess and makes us one. You are not asked to pretend the mess does not exist. You are invited to celebrate that God is bigger than all of it and that his love is the bridge from who we were to who he has called us to be.
Reflection: What would it look like for your life and your church community to genuinely rejoice in reconciliation rather than simply managing division?
Practical Application: Share with one person this week something specific that God has reconciled in your life, whether a relationship, a season of sin, or a period of doubt. Let your testimony be an act of boasting in what God has done.
