The Mess Becomes the Message

Reading: 2 Corinthians 12:9 — The assurance that God's grace is sufficient in every circumstance, and that divine strength is made most evident in human weakness.

Devotional: God does not waste a mess that has been saturated by grace. David's failure was real, the consequences were real, and the grief was real. But grace redeemed what sin had broken. Solomon was born. The lineage continued. The Psalms were written. The story was not over. Your worst chapter is not your final chapter. The very places where you have been broken, confronted, and restored are the places where your testimony carries the most weight. Someone around you right now needs to know that the grace that found you will find them too. Do not keep that message to yourself.

Reflection Questions:
  • How has God used a difficult or shameful season in your life to shape your testimony?
  • Who in your life needs to hear that failure is not the final word?
  • What would it look like for you to live openly as someone who has been found and restored by grace?
