The Courage to Obey
Reading: James 1:22-25 (a passage describing the difference between hearing God's Word and actually doing it)
Devotional: There is a wide gap between intention and action. The sermon reminded us of a missed moment on an elevator -- a chance to pray with a stranger that slipped away in seconds. God does not simply call us to good feelings or noble thoughts. He calls us to move. Every day He places people and moments before us that require a response. Obedience is not reserved for grand gestures. It lives in small, ordinary moments. Ask yourself today: where is God calling me to act, and am I willing to take one step forward in faith rather than looking back with regret?
Reflection Question: What opportunity for obedience has God placed in front of you recently that you have not yet acted on?
Practical Application: Identify one specific person in your life who needs encouragement, and reach out to them today with a word of prayer or a simple act of kindness.
