The Lies We Believe After We Fall

Reading: John 8:44 (Jesus describes the nature of the enemy as one who has no truth in him) and Psalm 34:18 (a reminder that God is close to the brokenhearted)

Devotional: After Peter denied Jesus and heard the rooster crow, he walked away weeping. In that moment of grief, the enemy was ready with a verdict: you are a failure, and that is all you will ever be. That voice is still active today. It whispers that your worst moment defines you, that you have gone too far, that grace has a limit you have already crossed. But the enemy is, as Jesus said, incapable of truth. Every accusation he speaks over your life is a lie. God draws near to the brokenhearted. He does not stand at a distance watching you weep. He is close.

Reflection Question: What lie about yourself have you accepted as truth after a season of failure or sin?

Practical Application: Write down one lie you have believed about your worth or your future, and beside it write a truth from Scripture that directly contradicts it. Return to that truth throughout the day.
