Grace That Came Near

John 1:1-18

The silence of 400 years ended not with thunder but with the cry of a newborn. God did not send a memo. He sent Himself. The Word became flesh and moved into the neighborhood of our brokenness. This is the scandal of grace -- that heaven stooped to reach what could never reach heaven on its own. Grace did not observe our mess from a safe distance. It entered it. As you read today, consider the weight of what it means that God chose to dwell among us. He has not abandoned you. He has drawn near.

Reflection: Where in your life do you most need to be reminded that God has drawn near rather than pulled away?

Practical Application: Identify one area of your life you have been reluctant to bring before God. Bring it to Him today, trusting that the God who came near in Bethlehem is near to you still.
