Holy Focus - Eyes on the Prize
Hebrews 12:1-3
The writer of Hebrews calls us to fix our eyes on Jesus, not on the crowd in the stands, not on the weight of past failures, and not on the difficulty of the road ahead. Holy focus is not the absence of struggle; it is the discipline of keeping Christ at the center of the struggle. Paul, writing from prison, still saw people to reach in Caesar's own household. His circumstances did not narrow his vision; they sharpened it. The same can be true for you. Whatever season you are in, whatever loss you are carrying, whatever weariness has settled into your bones, the prize is still ahead. The mission is still unfinished. The Spirit is still empowering. Do not stop.
Personal Reflection: What circumstance in your life right now is threatening to pull your focus away from Christ and His mission? How can you reframe that circumstance as an opportunity rather than an obstacle?
Practical Application: Close this week's reading plan by writing a short prayer of commitment. Tell God specifically where you will refuse to stop: refuse to stop praying, serving, forgiving, inviting, or sharing. Carry that prayer with you as a reminder that yesterday is gone, but today God is still calling.
