Childlike Worship and the Danger of Criticism
2 Samuel 16:14-23; Matthew 18:3
King David danced before the Lord with everything he had. He was sweating, uninhibited, and fully abandoned to worship. His wife Michal watched from a window and despised him for it. One heart was full of joy in the presence of God. The other stood at a distance, wrapped in pride and self-consciousness. Jesus tells us in Matthew 18:3 that unless we receive the kingdom of God like a child, we will not enter it. Childlike faith is not naive. It is trusting, open, and unashamed. When we become more concerned with appearing dignified than with encountering God, we risk trading His presence for our own comfort.
Personal Reflection: When did you last worship God with complete abandon, without worrying about what anyone around you thought?
Practical Application: In your personal prayer time today, worship God without any structure or agenda. Sing, pray aloud, or simply sit in silence. Let Him lead the moment entirely.
