The Table Sends Us Out

Matthew 28:18-20

Reading: Matthew 28:18-20 — Jesus, having been given all authority in heaven and on earth, commissions his disciples to go into all the world, making disciples of every nation, baptizing them, and teaching them to follow everything he has commanded, with the promise that he will be with them always.

Devotional: The pastor said it plainly: the table is not the finish line of our faith. It prepares us for mission. He also reminded us that Jesus did not leave us a monument to admire. He left us a meal to share. Every time we gather at the Lord's table, we are not simply looking backward at what Christ accomplished. We are being sent forward to declare it. The marriage feast of the Lamb is still coming. Every tribe, every tongue, every nation will one day be seated together. Until that day, we are the ones carrying the invitation. We are not here to make much of ourselves. We are here to make much of him.

Reflection Question: Who in your life has not yet heard the invitation to the table of grace?

Practical Application: Pray specifically for one person in your life who does not yet know Christ. Ask God to open a door for a natural, grace-filled conversation this week. Then walk through it when he does.
