Grace That Cost Everything

Luke 22:14-20 — In this passage, Jesus gathers with his disciples for the Passover meal, expresses his deep longing to share it with them before his suffering, and institutes the Lord's Supper, declaring the bread as his broken body and the cup as the new covenant in his blood.

Devotional: Grace is not a casual gift. It was purchased at the highest possible price. When Jesus took the bread and broke it, he was not performing a ritual. He was making a declaration. He knew what awaited him beyond that table — betrayal, denial, abandonment, agony, and death. He went anyway. For Judas. For Peter. For Thomas. For you. The pastor reminded us that grace is free, but it was never cheap. Today, sit with the weight of that truth. Do not let familiarity reduce the cross to a symbol you pass over without feeling. Let the cost of your redemption awaken fresh gratitude in your heart.

Reflection Question: When did you last pause to truly consider what your salvation cost Jesus personally?

Practical Application: Set aside five minutes today in complete silence. Reflect on one specific sin that Christ bore on your behalf. Thank him for it by name.
