Passing Down the Fire
Joshua 24:14-15; Judges 2:6-12
The gap between these two passages is one of the most sobering in all of Scripture. One generation chose to serve the Lord with conviction and courage. The next generation arose and did not know him. Not because God had hidden himself, but because somewhere in the space between, faith had been reduced to ceremony, tradition, and external duty rather than passed down as a living, breathing, personal encounter with the living God. What we hold in our hearts is what we hand to those who come after us. The next generation does not need our religious institutions alone. They need to witness open hands, humble hearts, and a faith that is clearly costing us something.

Practical Application: Identify one younger person in your life. Commit this week to sharing with them not just what you believe, but why you believe it and what it has personally cost and given you.
